Dots, Space and Pages: ChatGPT moves towards continuous work

OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT with three additions that bring artificial intelligence closer to everyday work: Dots, Space and Pages. Agents that keep working in the background, a shared environment for projects, and documents that people can create and edit alongside AI.

The idea brings conversations, applications and results together in one place. You can discuss a goal, let the work move forward and return later to pick up what is already under way. It is a development worth watching for anyone using ChatGPT in their business, in personal projects or as a productivity tool.

Dots: agents that keep working when you log off

Dots are AI agents designed to take on tasks and follow them through between conversations. They can research topics, analyse information, prepare documents and coordinate work with ChatGPT Work or Codex. While they work, users can continue the conversation, contribute a new idea or change priorities.

Each Dot has its own computer and browser in the cloud. Work in that environment can therefore continue even when you close your laptop or step away from the screen. The agent can return with results, alert you to a development or bring you a decision when it needs your input.

Continuity is one of the most interesting additions. A Dot can keep track of an ongoing responsibility, return to unfinished matters and connect new information with work it is already doing. Its memory and notes allow it to retain relevant preferences and decisions over time.

The promise of connecting more than 4,000 applications

The promise of connecting to more than 4,000 applications broadens the scope of this offering. Email, documents, project tools and other services can become part of the environment in which the agent works.

For a business, this opens up possibilities such as gathering information spread across several tools, preparing materials for a meeting or following up on a project. The appeal lies in assigning a goal that spans several applications and receiving a coherent result.

From customer feedback to unfinished tasks

One of the possibilities opened up by this new generation of agents is keeping track of customer feedback. A Dot can help gather messages, identify recurring themes and prepare a summary of what is happening around a product or service.

It is also interesting for analysing information that changes frequently: new project data, campaign results or documents arriving during the week. The agent can work with that material and prepare comparisons, reports or proposals for the next steps.

In everyday organisation, the idea translates into an assistant that can help remind you about an invoice waiting to be sent, prepare information for a meeting or follow changes around a launch. These are examples of tasks that currently claim small pieces of our attention throughout the working day.

Space: the new place to work inside ChatGPT

All that work needs somewhere to come together. ChatGPT Space is the evolution of Library into an environment that combines pages, files and collaboration between people and agents.

Inside Space, teams can organise project materials: documents, images, plans, spreadsheets and presentations. Information is no longer distributed only across conversations; it becomes part of a shared space people can return to as the work continues.

Imagine a launch where the brief, copy, images and presentation are all together. The team can collaborate on that material and ask ChatGPT or a Dot to investigate a question, develop an idea or review a document.

Pages: writing, editing and collaborating with AI

Pages is the part dedicated to documents. It brings text, headings, tables, images and files together in an editable page. People and agents can contribute to the content, with comments and revisions directly in the document.

One of its defining features is the ability to mention @ChatGPT or a Dot directly on a page or in a comment. The conversation with AI is brought closer to the content people are working on.

Pages also includes content generation and interactive visualisations. A document can become a place to develop an idea, explain a project or gather information that several people need to consult.

Is OpenAI building its own digital office?

The combination of Pages, spreadsheets and presentations makes the comparison with an office suite inevitable. OpenAI is bringing more and more work formats into ChatGPT, with conversation as a way to create and modify them.

From our perspective, what makes this development interesting is how closely the different stages of work connect. Research can become a document; that document can form the basis of a presentation; and the material can keep developing alongside the team and its agents.

This gives ChatGPT a role in more parts of the working day: when an idea appears, while materials are being prepared and as the project continues. The platform is beginning to take on the role of a shared workplace.

Dots are also coming to Slack and Microsoft Teams

The offering extends to tools that many teams already use. Dots can participate in conversations in Slack and Microsoft Teams as well as ChatGPT.

The same agent can use relevant context across those channels. A project conversation can therefore continue in whichever tool is most convenient at that moment, while retaining its connection to the work already under way.

This could make interaction with agents feel more natural: receiving an update in Slack, discussing a decision in Teams or returning to ChatGPT to explore a result in more detail. Messages remain in their respective channels while the Dot maintains continuity in its work.

Availability: what this means for Norway

The launch is gradual and varies by plan. As of 30 September 2026, Dots is rolling out to Pro 100, Pro 200 and Pro 500 outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Pro users in Norway will therefore have to wait.

Business Premium and Enterprise have a gradual worldwide rollout; on Enterprise, activation depends on the administrator. There is still no confirmed date for Dots to reach Pro in the EEA. Space and Pages follow their own rollout schedules.

Why we are following these developments at Kodemagisk

At Kodemagisk, we are interested in how these tools bring artificial intelligence closer to the real work of businesses. The ability to follow a project between conversations, collaborate on documents and receive results through familiar applications could change how many tasks are organised.

Dots, Space and Pages bring together three complementary pieces: an agent that follows work through, a place to share context, and documents that people and artificial intelligence can work on together. That combination is what makes this launch particularly interesting.

We will continue covering news about artificial intelligence, web development and digital tools worth knowing about on the Kodemagisk blog.
